Encryption Key Management Services

Our public key infrastructure is designed to protect client documents and reduce the risks of centralised key storage.

Public Key Infrastructure

MyDocSafe uses a public key to encrypt data and a private key to decrypt it. Each user has a separate key pair controlling access to their files and folders.

Why Key Storage Matters

If encryption keys are stored on the same server as data, a successful server breach can expose both keys and documents. Our key management options reduce that risk and make stored data less attractive to attackers.

Key Management Options

  1. MyDocSafe manages keys on the main server (default option).
  2. MyDocSafe manages keys kept separate from the main server.
  3. MyDocSafe issues keys to an escrow agent.
  4. MyDocSafe issues keys directly to you.

Options 2-4 improve separation and control. Option 4 provides the highest control, but you are fully responsible for storing your keys safely.
